Overture Films has acquired the distribution rights of Henry Poole is Here, a "spiritual dramedy" directed by Mark Pellington (Arlington Road) and starring Luke Wilson and Radha Mitchell. According to Variety, "Wilson plays a man who tries to hide out in suburbia but finds himself instead." Overture is hoping for a late summer release. Not to dispense any judgment on this film in advance, but late summer tends to be when all the leftovers seep into theaters. Not a great sign. Well, what's it like, Overture CEO Chris McGurk?
"In some ways, it's an edgy comedy. In others, it's a heartfelt drama," said McGurk. "It's inspirational, not religious. It's about belief and hope."
Well, no one can accuse it of being high-concept.
