Hayden Panettiere, the 18 year-old star of Heroes, will stretch the limits of her acting range by playing "the hottest cheerleader" in a high school-oriented comedy that may be directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire). The film is called I Love You Beth Cooper, based on a novel by former Simpsons writer Larry Doyle. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Beth shows nerdy valedictorian Denis Cooverman the best night of his life after he proclaims his love for her during his graduation speech.
Panettiere also recently finished shooting Fireflies in the Garden with Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds, and Willem Dafoe.
