On Thursday, the Writers Guild signed an interim agreement with Lionsgate, the largest indie film producer in Hollywood. This is all part of the WGA's so-called "divide and conquer" strategy, which has already led to agreements with The Weinstein Co., United Artists, Marvel Studios, Worldwide Pants, Spyglass Entertainment, MRC, Jackson Bites, Mandate Films, and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.
Meanwhile the WGA is still pursuing informal, secretive discussions with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, giving some hope that the strike will be over in short order.
