Written by David Morgan

The critically panned, Rashomon-esque Vantage Point easily beat its competition this weekend at the box office, making a reasonable $24 million. Most of the other films on the market were hold-overs, with the exception of the new Michel Gondry comedy Be Kind Rewind, which landed in seventh place with only $4.1 million. Here's the top ten (courtesy of IMDb):

1. Vantage Point - $24m
2. Jumper - $12.7m
3. The Spiderwick Chronicles - $12.6m
4. Step Up 2 the Streets - $9.79m
5. Fool's Gold - $6.27m
6. Definitely, Maybe - $5.18m
7. Be Kind Rewind - $4.1m
8. Juno - $4.1m
9. Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins - $3.99m
10. There Will Be Blood - $2.56m
