We've all seen the first image of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 from the new Star Trek movie. It was a close shot of the top half of the saucer section of the ship, showing construction being done on it. It's a cool shot, but is so tight that it's hard to get a sense of the overall ship.
Well regular Screen Rant reader "DataSchmuck" used his mad Photoshop skills to assemble screen grabs from the recent Star Trek teaser trailer to put together a composite image that gives us a full-on top to bottom look at the saucer section.
There's a medium-sized version below and you can click on the image below for a hi-res look at it as well.
That is a very cool image and I think it conveys the scale of the ship even better than the original picture did.
While some argue that Star Trek should continue to move forward, seeing a picture of the original NCC-1701 under construction gets me really fired up. The original crew is my favorite and I'm hoping that this movie somehow can capture the charm and chemistry of the original series.
Thanks again to "DataSchmuck" for creating it and sending it to us.
Star Trek opens on December 25th, 2008
