This is pure rumor and hearsay, but the guys over at BloodyDisgusting are claiming to have a scoop on Paul Thomas Anderson's next film. Calling it "the biggest news [they've] ever reported," B-D offers little in the way of details, but they say that Mr. Anderson "is seriously contemplating making his next project a HORROR film. As of right now the project is just a thought that has yet to be put down on paper, but hopefully in the next few months or so a decision will be made." They cite a "well-trusted insider," but obviously everything is still very sketchy.
In any event, given Anderson's considerable talent (he's directed Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, and the Oscar darling There Will Be Blood), his horror film would be quite a sight to see. We'll keep you posted if this ever develops past something Anderson may or may not have talked about at some point to someone.
