Italian horror guru Dario Argento has announced plans for his next movie entitled Giallo (Italian for "yellow" as well as a phrase for pulpy thrillers). The film will be shot in English and will feature Ray Liotta, oddball auteur Vincent Gallo, and the director's daughter Asia Argento. According to Variety,
Giallo will revolve around serial slashings of some very attractive women being investigated by a solitary cop, which Liotta is likely to play, who engages in a cat-and-mouse game with the phsychopathic perpetrator, to be played by Gallo.
The screenplay was written by Americans Jim Agnew and Sean Keller and will begin filming in Turin in February. The movie will be both a legitimate thriller as well as an homage to that genre that made Argento an icon of blood-strewn cinema.
