Alec Baldwin and Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew) have joined the cast of Lymelife, an indie dramedy from the Martini Brothers (individually Derick and Steven). Cynthia Nixon, Rory Culkin, Kieran Culkin, Jill Hennessy, and Timothy Hutton have also been cast, while Martin Scorsese is serving as executive producer. According to Variety:
Set in late '70s Long Island, the coming-of-age story follows two families who fall apart when precarious relationships, real estate problems and Lyme disease converge in the heart of suburbia.
The Martinis wrote the screenplay and will direct the film. They developed the project under Robert Redford at the Sundance Filmmaker's Lab back in 2001 but it's taken some time for the necessary funding to accrue. Baldwin is also producing and has been attached to the project in some manner or another almost since the beginning. He'll shoot his scenes concurrently with his regular gig in the New York-set 30 Rock.
