Jason Reitman Takes On Corporate America, And Megan Fox Underwear Scene, For Next Projects

Jason ReitmanThere are certain directors who are living legends walking among us: The Coens, Scorsese, Spielberg. Then there are the fast-risers who will likely be entertaining us for decades to come: Zack Snyder, Judd Apatow. And to that list, we officially have to add one Jason Reitman. And now, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker has revealed exclusively to MTV News what his next project will be. Well, kinda.

“Yeah, I’m writing something,” he grinned, cryptically. “I’m going to direct it at the end of the year. And no, I haven’t told anyone what it is yet.” After a few minutes of poking and prodding, we finally got the Oscar-nominated “Juno” and “Thank You for Smoking Director” to cough up a wee bit more.

“It’s a comedy and a drama [book adaptation],” he revealed. “Think ‘Thank You for Smoking,’ but instead of political it’s corporate.”

The only other thing the 30-year-old filmmaker would admit is that he’ll be writing another role for the versatile actor and close friend who played Juno’s scrupulous dad and Aaron Eckhart’s unscrupulous “Smoking” boss. “Of course,” he insisted, alluding to his good luck charm. “There will always be room for J.K. Simmons.”

Reitman also gave us a sneak peek at the Diablo Cody horror script he’ll soon produce, called “Jennifer’s Body.” “We start shooting in three weeks,” he said of the flick.

Asked for the scene he can’t wait to see on the big screen, he could only grin. “Well, we’ve got Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried getting into a fight in their underwear. That’ll be fun.”

What do you guys think of Jason Reitman’s career so far? With his unique mix of comedy and drama, is he this generation’s Billy Wilder, or do you see him as a two-hit wonder? Give us your thoughts, homeskillet!
