Ashton Kutcher and Jennifer Jason Leigh are set to star in an indie sex comedy called Spread, produced by Kutcher's own Katalyst Productions. Kutcher will play a "serial womanizer," Leigh will take the role of a "thwarted lover," and that's about all that is known about the plot so far.
Jason Dean Hall wrote the screenplay, his first feature, and the film will be directed by David MacKenzie from Scotland. He told Variety, "I am exceptionally excited to be shooting in Hollywood, but with an outsider's eye." I tend to believe that it doesn't matter where your eyes are from so long as you're good. And supposedly his most recent film, Hallam Foe, is just that, though it hasn't been released stateside yet.
Also, this film is further proof that Ashton Kutcher is being typecast (by himself even) as the young guy that gets it on with much older women. Cameron Diaz, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and of course, his actual wife.
