Director of the Pirates of the Caribbean series Gore Verbinski is preparing to direct his first animated film. Producers Graham King (The Departed) and John B. Carls are also aboard with screenwriter John Logan (Sweeney Todd).
The film may not have a title, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, it does have a hundred million dollar budget, a 2010 release date, and the potential for sequels. They're currently assembling visual effects specialists and designers to work on the film. They may either go to an established studio for the animation or create one themselves, based on what the final screenplay entails.
