Michael Ealy, who recently wrapped Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna, will play Will Smith's younger brother in the upcoming drama Seven Pounds. Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) is directing the screenplay by Grant Nieporte about "a suicidal IRS agent (Smith) who sets out to make amends by assuming the identity of his younger brother. His plans get complicated when he inadvertently falls in love." How does that work, exactly?
Rosario Dawson (Smith's co-star from Men in Black 2) and Woody Harrelson round out the cast. Ealy was selected personally by Smith based on his recent Golden Globe-nominated performance in Showtime's Sleeper Cell.
