The Screen Actors Guild held their annual awards shindig this Sunday, to give out awards to the unsung heroes of movies and television: The actors. Unlike the disastrous Golden Globes of a few weeks ago, the SAG awards were not picketed by the Writers Guild, as SAG has been one of the WGA's strongest supporters, a position several winners were vocal about during the telecast.
As for who won what, well, no surprises in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture category. Daniel Day-Lewis is on his way to win every acting award known to man for his portrayal of Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood. Day-Lewis also took this opportunity to dedicate his award to the late Heath Ledger, praising his performances in Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain. Best Actress went to Julie Christie for Away from Her. While the Best Cast award went to the leads of No Country for Old Men.
