Hugo Weaving (The Matrix, Lord of the Rings) has joined the cast of Joe Johnston's remake of The Wolf Man. According to Variety, Weaving will play a detective named Aberline, possibly an update on the Ralph Bellamy character from the 1941 original. Benico Del Toro plays Larry Talbot, the eponymous part-time lupine character originated by Lon Chaney, Jr. Anthony Hopkins will play his father Sir John Talbot, while Emily Blunt will play Larry's love interest.
The screenplay was written by Andrew Kevin Walker who is perhaps still best known for his original screenplay for Se7en. Filming is set to commence next month in London.
