She won't be as big of a box office draw, but at least Alison Lohman's talent is comparable to that of Oscar-nominee Ellen Page. The Juno actress had to drop out of Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell last week due to scheduling conflicts, but Lohman (Beowulf, Big Fish) managed to catch the role in no time flat. She "will play a woman who is the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse in the story written by Raimi and his brother, Ivan."
Principal photography begins on March 31st. Raimi's Ghost House Pictures is co-producing with Mandate. Lohman's proven herself in the dramatic field before, though I don't think she's ever done horror (or splatter comedy, for that matter) before. Still, she seems like a good fit to me. Opinions?
