Focus Features and Working Title have opted for a wide release for Ethan and Joel Coen's next film, Burn After Reading. This is hardly a surprise, seeing how those Minnesota boys just won the Best Writing, Best Direction, and Best Picture Oscars for their kick-ass Western No Country For Old Men.
Set for a September 12, 2008 release, Burn After Reading is a dark spy-comedy written and directed by the Coens. Its big name cast includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and Richard Jenkins. Most of those cast members have been nominated for or have won Academy Awards.
The Coens, when writing and directing their own movies, have never disappointed me. Expect solid entertainment and a quality film experience in September.
